At this time one hundred years ago Johnny Collins, Michael Collins’ brother had the sad task of passing on some of Michael’s personal effects to his friends.
On the 1st of September 1922 Colonel Joe O’Reilly, great friend and ADC to Michael Collins, on the request of Johnny Collins sent a travel mirror which belonged to Michael to Ned Broy as a souvenir. Ned Broy had been a double agent who worked for Collins within the DMP during the War of Independence.
The mirror which is on loan from the Broy family, is just one of the precious personal Michael Collins items on display at the Michael Collins Centre Museum.
